The WhatsApp messenger made it possible for users to access directories of companies around the world. The launch of a new feature is announced by AdWeek.
In the messenger, owned by Facebook, a “Store” button has been added, resembling a storefront. It replaced the voice call button in the application interface.
The icon appeared automatically in the chat of users with those who have an account in the WhatsApp Business application with a catalog of goods or services. The button indicates that the company has a virtual storefront and opens access to it with one click.
Back in October, WhatsApp owners announced they would triple their investments in business development on their platform. The investment will affect areas such as purchases, Facebook hosting services and business sales. Launching the Store button is part of these plans.
According to Facebook, about 175 million users send messages with links to business accounts to the messenger every day, and over 40 million directories are viewed monthly.
Also, almost 68% of WhatsApp respondents confirmed that they are more willing to purchase from a company that can be contacted via a messenger than one that does not offer such an option.
WhatsApp messenger recently launched the disappearing messages feature. When this mode is enabled, new messages sent to the chat will disappear from it after seven days.
